Paris 1998

From Edinburgh, we flew to the City of Light, Paris.  It is a very beautiful city, but I don’t think I’d ever want to visit in the summer again!  It seemed as though the whole world was visiting the same week we were.  We stayed in an apartment on Boulevard Haussmann, and this was the view out our window.  We arrived late in the afternoon, and after settling in, we went for a walk on the Champs Elysee where we saw the Arc de Triomphe at Place Charles de Gaulle (or Place de l’Étoile).  We arrived too late to walk to the top that night, but it still looked beautiful.

We saw so many wonderful sight in Paris, including the cathedral of Notre Dâme on the Ile de la Cité, the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Seine, and, of course, the Eiffel Tower.
